Colonoscopy

Colonoscopy is the examination of the colon to check for any abnormalities.

All of the colon from rectum to cecum can be evaluated. This can check the colon for polyps, colitis, diverticulosis and other conditions.

Colon polyps can be removed during colonoscopy with the use of a snare from inside. This is a generally safe procedure in the hands of expert gastroenterologists.

Colonoscopy is a technique of evaluating large intestine (colon) with an endoscope, which is a thin rubber tube with a camera. A special preparation instruction will be given to you by our office. You will be given sedation during the test to minimize any discomfort during the test. The procedure takes 15 to 30 minutes. You are given sedation during the procedure.
